<stepDesc>Thirteen transects in Nursery Marsh, Nursery Cypress Wetland, and Cypress Wetland Marsh were surveyed by SWFWMD in 2016. Degrove Surveyors, Inc., under contract with Jones Edmunds, re-surveyed the bathymetry along these 13 previously established transects from April 20 through May 1, 2020.
Jones Edmunds used a combination of the LAS files from Block 2 of the 2017 Hillsborough County SWFWMD LiDAR project and the LAS to Multipoint tool within the Esri 3D Analyst toolbox in ArcMap 10.6 to import the Class 2 LiDAR returns into an Esri file geodatabases. This feature class was named MASSPOINTS. Jones Edmunds also imported the waterbody breaklines provided with the 2017 LiDAR into the file geodatabase. These are the same data sources that were used to interpolate the 2017 digital elevation model (DEM) of Hillsborough County. We also imported the 2020 survey points captured by Degrove
Surveyors, Inc into the geodatabase.
Jones Edmunds then generated a TIN-based Terrain feature within the geodatabase using a combination of these 2017 LiDAR MASSPOINTS, the survey points captured by Degrove Surveyors, Inc. along the 13 transects spanning the wetland areas, and the waterbody breaklines. The 2017 LiDAR waterbody breaklines were set as a hard breakline to control the interpolation between the survey points and the LiDAR points. The Terrain was then used to generate a 2.5-foot gridded DEM using the Terrain to Raster with Natural Neighbors interpolation in the ESRI 3D Analysis toolbox in ArcMap 10.6
